Flying in the Right Direction

Mark and I took sweet little man to Michigan to meet Mark's family. That being said, my routine has been all off track.

So now, I've been working hard to get things back together. However, Fly Lady is in zone 3 bathroom and office. Wishing we were in the kitchen zone. Apparently, I missed that last week.

To encourage myself more, I need to post what I did do. Positive baby steps.

I've worked in both downstairs bathrooms. I can walk in my walk-in closet. That right there is a Christmas miracle. My bathroom is looking great. I just need to scrub my shower (cause its kinda bad) and my garden tub and the tub in our hall bathroom. I realize this week is supposed to be the main bathroom...but my bathroom really needed some lovin'.

I'm telling you, this Fly Lady...I want to give her a kiss. She's helped me keep my dishes done, sink shiny and a smile on my face. I've finally done a lot of extra things I've been meaning to do.

I'm excited to get up and get dressed to my shoes. Makes me feel like I've accomplished something at the end of my day.

Day 3

Success. Yay!

Day 2

On day 2 with the fly lady, you're supposed to get up and get dressed to lace up shoes, doing hair and face.

Its a little difficult for me to do this. I first have to nurse a sweet little baby. But then I got dressed, made Mark some breakfast, got on to him for putting dishes in my shiny sink. Not sure that's the right attitude. Anyhow, my day was slightly off because I had to take Marky to the dr.

I just took off my sneakers and my sink is shiny. I'm smiley.

Baby steps to making changes. Hopefully my baby steps will work well before my baby is stepping!

Why?

I'm trying to unleash the homemaking beast within. Especially the beast that cleans.

Julie B. Beck has said "Latter-day Saint women should be the best homemakers in the world." And I'm NOT! So here goes nothing!

I have decided I need to take advice from others. First, my mother's advice to "gain control" (her infamous clean your room speech) of my house.
Then, I'm going to fly with the fly lady herself and use a program that has helped others.

I know my house didn't get this way over night, so it will take time. Baby steps, right Jessica?

Day 1- Shine my sink
Results promised- I'll smile.

Look Mom, I shined my sink.
It looks great.
I'm smiling.

Here she blows.
